Your Hosts
Archie and Anne Hunter look forward to welcoming you to their home and assure you that you will experience truly genuine Scottish and Irish hospitality.
Archie
was born and brought up on the surrounding farm where his family
continue to work the land almost 100 years after his grandfather
first came from Ayrshire. Archie has his own business recycling
agricultural and horticultural
by-products into organic soil improvers which are sold direct to
gardeners in the Edinburgh area.
Long
before the appearance of the Da Vinci Code, Archie has had an interest
in local history and particularly the medieval period when the Knights
Templar were active in the area. He has an extensive collection
of books on the subject and you are welcome to peruse these during
your stay.
Anne was born in Ireland and was a teacher in London and Port of Spain in Trinidad. For the past twelve years she has run her own business, the Edinburgh au Pair Agency, placing au Pairs with Scottish families.
We
are a family of dog lovers and have two labs Molly and Becky. Unfortunately,
we do not have the facilities to provide accommodation for guests’
pets but if this is a requirement please gets in touch as Archie’s
brother has “pets welcome” self catering accommodation
nearby and we'll gladly put you in touch.
We will happily advise guest on tours and itineraries and recommend sites to see and restaurants suited to your preferences. We have a number of books and DVDs on Rosslyn Chapel which you might find useful to look at before your visit there.
