This extremely comfortable one bedroomed apartment offers excellent self catering accommodation for couples looking for a relaxing quiet break where they can do their own thing, in their own way, in their own time.Pantiles is a stone constructed annexe of Orchard House, a large country house set within a 2 acre walled garden. It has its own exclusive entrance, separate parking and its own private patio area.The apartment is accessed by a short external stone stairway adjacent to your own private parking area. When you arrive stop for a moment to admire the hand chiselled stone work. Before you enter the old wooden door you glance up beyond the stain glass window to the stone pigeon holes. You can literally reach out and touch the old hand made clay pantiles brought over as ballast on sailing boats from the Low Countries over 200 years ago. Inside you are met with a bright, clean, open plan living area with exposed original roof beams. On your left is a superb modern open plan kitchen, straight ahead are French windows opening out onto a small balcony and to your right is a real gas stove when you want a cosy evening by the fire.
All around you is an amazing array of old timbers – the 12 foot lintel is from an old canal lock gate, the floors are red cedar, the framing is Oregon Pine recovered from a distillery in the Highlands and the pine doors crafted by local artisans.
