Using Edinburgh Public Transport

	Buses There are 2 buses that run from the centre of Edinburgh (North Bridge) to Rosewell and vice versa. The fare is £1 or £1.20 and correct change is required for both companies. The journey time is roughly 45 mins The number 49 operated by Lothian buses runs approximately every hour from North Bridge to Rosewell The number 79 operated by First Bus runs approximately every half hour and is generally a quicker service from the centre of Edinburgh to Rosewell. If you are flying to Edinburgh Airport and wish to use public transport from the airport to Rosewell we would suggest getting the No 100 Airlink Bus from the airport to Waverly Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. Walk approximately 150 metres to the road on the far side of the Balmoral Hotel which is called North Bridge. From the bus stops here you will get either the 49 or 79 service. Taxis

There are many taxi companies that operate in and around Edinburgh. Only the traditional style taxi within Edinburgh can be hailed. All others have to be pre booked.

We can arrange for a local taxi firm to collect you from the airport or you can get an airport taxi direct to Orchard House. The cost is currently around £25 and should take around 20 to 30 minutes.

Edinburgh offers two main train stations the principal being Waverly the other is Haymarket. If you are traveling by train to Edinburgh and Orchard House it is recommended that Waverly Station is used.
